1.       Textbooks cost too much

6.       Bike rack at Infinity Hall is on the wall and it is difficult to get a bike on when there are already bikes on either side of the available space.
a.       Designer of the building not only decided parking spots are unnecessary for college students, but also that there should be limited space to chain bikes in the small rooms which are one of the few places where bikes can be kept and not left to the mercy of the idiots who enjoy stealing and hammering bike wheels into funky shapes.
7.       I always leave my water bottle at home.
a.       My water bottle falls out of the side pocket of my bag easily.
8.       I must bring trash bags from my room to the other side of the building.

11.   My right earbud keeps falling out.
a.       My right ear is likely slightly deformed so the earbud cannot fit.
12.   There are not enough episodes of The Office.
a.       I probably would never be satisfied with the number of seasons so I would always feel this way.

18.   Wendy’s on campus won’t accept my rewards free Frosty Keychain and Chick-fil-A won’t give free refills and Starbucks won’t let me do mobile order.
a.       On campus, restaurants don’t need to be convenient to make money so they aren’t convenient.
19.   Phone calls keep cutting out, making talking difficult on the phone.
a.       The building interrupts the signal.
20.   Microsoft earbuds look so cool and obnoxious I don’t know what to think.
a.       The designers want to make earbuds that can compete against Airpods.
Coming up with things that bother me about my day-to-day life was very easy because I try to think of how to fix them all of the time and I enjoy trying to make connections between problems. It was easy because my mindset usually revolves around trying to think of how to fix problems so I can then try to come up with something which would be worthy of Shark Tank.

  1. Hi Mikalee, I enjoyed reading your blog post on bugs. One of the points that I really connected with was the first point on textbooks, we pay so much money to attend the University of Florida and for us to be forced to pay for an online textbook for assignments and quizzes is really crazy to me. I have also had problems with bike racks around campus, last year I had my bike stolen from outside of my apartment building (it was locked) so I started putting 2 locks one on the front and one on the back to keep my new bike safe from thieves.

  2. Mikalee, I would say a lot of your bugs are relatable for the majority of all college students such as the requirement to buy expensive textbooks for classes and the unusual bed size of those in the dorms on campus. I liked how a lot of your bugs were diverse and covered a plethora of different problems I cross throughout my day without even noticing. Although I have a scooter instead of a bike, I can totally relate to your bug about never being able to find parking and always having to walk far from the bike rack to your actual dorm. It's definitely a huge problem that would make a difference if it was fixed! I find that to be the biggest and most obvious problem I cross throughout the week. I found your bug that suggested there to be more episodes of The Office to be really funny and I'm sure most college students who have Netflix can agree. Great job on your blog post!
